Robert Wagner narrates his remembrances of the people and events that shaped him into one of Hollywood's most enduring movie stars. In a friendly, nontheatrical reading, Wagner tells of seeing four of his movie idols, including Cary Grant and Clark Gable, playing golf one morning when he was 12. From that moment on, he dreamed of being like them. Eventually, he became a studio contract player and a star. In tasteful reminiscences, Wagner offers modest details of his four-year romance with actress Barbara Stanwyck; his lifelong friendships with Spencer Tracy and David Niven; his two marriages to the love of his life, Natalie Wood; and the mystery surrounding her tragic death. Far from being an exposé, Wagner's tender look back is as genteel as the man himself. S.J.H. (c) AudioFile 2008, Portland, Maine
